In 1900 four Scotsman agreed to play a game of bowls on the lawn in front of their homes at Knutsford Terrace. Such was their enthusiasm for some recreational facilities on the Kowloon peninsula, that together with another five gentlemen they decided to form a bowling club. The Club was opened on Saturday 4^th August 1900 on a plot of then largely rural land.
